Portrait of the artist as a little prick.

Fagan touts a long list of mediocre achievements, probably the least of which is this website.

As a wee lad in Milwaukee, he cut his comedic teeth in grade school when he illustrated the Holy Family as zombies in his First Communion Prayer Book. Ever the prolific storyteller, in fifth grade he authored a ten-part series about a time-traveling Mongolian named “Erokosabi” who vanquished Nazis and Blackshirts in graphic detail.

At 18, Fagan moved to Seattle where he graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Film and an understanding of how to produce short films with little or no resources (read: permits).

A month after the breakup of his second wildly unsuccessful punk band, he relocated again, this time to New York. It was here that he graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School and later with an MA in English Education from Brooklyn College.

He now splits his time between Bushwick and Mexico City (researching for his novel). He has contributed to Rolling Stone, Playboy, and to many conversations when nobody asked for his damn opinion anyway. He writes masterfully about politics, art, culture, sex, music and is also quite adroit at relating to himself in the royal third person. Very often, Fagan uses this site to raise funds for mutual aid efforts, at times donating 100% to such causes.

Welcome to Gnarly Headache.
